Lactose Intolerance - Digestive Disorders Message Board

For complete lactose intolerance, I am trying to help solve the problem.

The enzyme lactase does NOT seem to help very much.

Is there a way to somehow make the lactase bind more effectively with the lactose that is being consumed in a cake , for example.

Also,the famous d'Adamo diet says that Lacotse intolerance is due to antibodie against D-galactosamine. I don't quite undertand what this means I should do or take.

Any help or web sites would be appreciated.

For your system to use lactose -- milk sugar -- it has to be converted to sugar with an enzyme that you have problems producing. The Lactaid is good for some people but in other that are more sensitive -- it just don't work 100%.

The best thing to do is stop eating anything with milk in it for awhile ---say 3 months then gradually introduce it back in your diet. It just may work but it may not.

You just have to try but if you are totally lactose intolerant then you may always have the problem??

Both my husband and daughter are lactose intolerent, They both have to take a double dose of Lactaid Ultra chewables right before eating dairy, this is working perfectly so far. They just try to use this method for special occasions ect (maybe once a week) . Hope it helps
