All fiber is not the same. Insoluble fiber basically is not digested and passes through your intestines sometimes looking like it did when you ate it and it is normal. Some is not recognizeable like wheat bran. But, the peelings from fruit & veggies, beans & peas, the leafy greens, tomato skins and some seeds & nuts just contain stuff like cellulose that stays the same.
Soluble fiber absorbs fliud bulks up you stool and looks not like what you ate --- the grains-- oatmeal, rice, ground corn, potatoes, psyllium seed husk.
We need both types for normal BMs-- 20 to 30 grams daily.
