GERD?

Yesterday I started experiencing this pain phenomenon that I used to get ALL the time in college a few years ago. Doctors first thought it was acid reflux, then gas pain. But, knowing now what gas pain is, this is NOT it. It comes in WAVES, and you know it's going to come, so you can almost brace yourself. I will feel it rip through me, literally like a wave and be done. ALL NIGHT LONG. Yesterday I took three Tums, and drank some sprite to attempt to burp, and it felt a little better. Do I need magnesium? Because I will go purchase it right now.

These "waves" that you mentioned, where do you feel it? In you chest or stomach?

Gas pains could hit you just about anywhere including your stomach and chest area. It could also affect your shoulder blades as well. I get gas pains all over including my stomach, ribs, side, back and should blades. I think the gas pains are worse when I am constipated and lessen when I'm not. I think staying regular as far as bowel movements go will help.

When talking about gas pains in waves, I am not sure what you mean other than to say that come intermediately, meaning not all the time but in spurts. I don't think that is so uncommon.
