Hi! This is a term I coined for what other boards (for example the Heartburn Help Forums) call "flutters." THey are the weird feeling that one's esophagus is vibrating/fluttering/twitching. Sometimes mine are kind-of rough and intense, feeling like there is a pounding just south of my breastbone, at the tip top of my stomach. NOT the same as full-blown esophageal spasms, which cause chest pain & dysphagia. THey aren't painful, but are very annoying & not much seems to help a lot, although Nexium 40-mg./day WAS helping me til this 4th week on it. People on the Heartburn Help forum seem to favor Xanax, in low doses, which I will ask my doctor for tomorrow.
Hugs,
Maggie C.
