Greetings to all --

Four months post-op (lap cholecystectomy) and am feeling pretty good, although big meals are a no-no due to feeling bloated/overstuffed.

However, I've experienced a couple of strange events lately with very low right quadrant pain very early in the a.m. or that awaken me at night. The pain is intense, but very brief, and last time was relieved by gas (sorry) and jumping up and walking around. It was so strong, though, that for the first minute I thought of calling 911 for appendicitis! I know my symptoms are not typical of that, however.

The weirdest thing about this is that it's always on the right side, very low, and if I am lying flat on my back I can actually see and feel what I assume is my intestine moving around, like there's an egg (the intestine?) moving up and down in the area. This sounds silly, but it reminds me of one of those Chinese New Year parade dragons that move up and down on a city street.

As stated, the pain(s) are intense, but don't last long -- perhaps 1-4 minutes, and then disappear, sometimes with gas.

I've experienced plenty of gas in my time, and more since the surgery, but this is strange to me since gas usually seems more uncomfortable than painful, and in my case was always more evenly spread around the abdomen.

Does anyone relate to this at all? Its particularly interesting to me since I really don't recall it prior to the gallbladder removal.
