Extreme constipation - Digestive Disorders Message Board

I think I have a problem, for years now I have had such bad constipation that I have to use a peice of toilet paper to dislodge excrement from the anus, I push the toilet paper into the anus and it stimulates the anus pushing the excrement out. I go to the toilet to excrete about once a day, and I spend a long time in there and alot of toilet paper. How can I remedy my problem?

There are 3 things you normally need to have normal BMs:

>Fiber--- 25 to 35 grams daily

>Water--- 6 to 8 glases daily

>Exercise--- Daily

You could use a Glycerin suppository that is inserted in your rectum to get you started??

You can buy glycerin suppositories at drug stores. They are shaped like a bullet and made of glycerin.
You insert one in your rectum and wait until it melts and you get the feel to have a BM.
