Upset Stomach When I Wake Up - Digestive Disorders Message Board

I am not sure what is wrong with my stomach. The past two days when I have woken up my stomach has felt upset. Yesterday it appeared water helped to get rid of it so I just figured maybe I had some acid in there. This morning I drank an entire 20 oz of water and it had no effect. I did have diarrhea last night, but I think it may have been due to the fact I had consumed some fiber the day before to make myself regular again, and I took some vitamin C well. I have been consuming slightly more milk than usual since I have been lifting weight and my protein powder requires it. I don't think I have been drinking enough to cause a calcium overdose or anything like that..maybe 3-4 glasses per day...
Any thoughts/concerns?

I can relate to you. I have been waking up feeling off in my stomach - its more like a burning in my stomach, not like heartburn. I dont know whether to eat or drink or just wait until it feels better.
I don't have a clue why this is but would love to know why.

You could have gastritis, an ulcer and/or H. Pylori. I have gastritis and I get a burning sensation in my stomach if I don't take my meds. But I also have nausea, diarrhea/constipation that alternates, and alot of burping/gas as well.
I would go see your Dr. and have an endoscopy w/biopsy done. That will tell you if anything is wrong with your stomach.
