major heartburn! - Digestive Disorders Message Board

I have had frequent heartburn for several years now. I used to be on prilosec then it became otc and it doesn't seem to help much anymore. The dr i am going to now wanted me to have an upper gi(which was my first) i drank the cups of the barium and they did the xrays. the dr doing the x-rays said he saw nothing abnormal. I did take a zantac 150 the morning before ( i was told not to but could'nt help it)but that was it. How can heartburn that hits me at least 3 times a day 5- 7 days a week show nothing abnormal?

you need to have a ph probe done that will measure the amount of acid that is comeing up into your esphogus somethime's test are wrong you know you may have been just haveing a good day the ph probe is a 24 hour test it will tell the truth
