H-Pylori, and ulcers - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Hello everyone,

I am having sever stomach pain, I had a blood test for H-Pylori and it came out negitave, what I would like to know is are you still able to get an ulcer with out having H-Pylori? I have an amazing amount of stress right now. My pain is almost always there at some level, but usually it is a constant pain which flares terribly every hour or so and will flare immediatly if I eat something, no matter what it is. I just dont know what to do. I have already had my gallbladder out and my liver tests came back normal. I would appriecate any info offered.

The other big thing that causes ulcers is taking a lot of NSAIDS (Advil, etc.) do you use a lot of that stuff?

How long have you had your pain? I have been in pain for 10 weeks now .I feel sick on and off most of the day the pain move from one place to another all around my belly and ribs, Also near ovaries I have pain now in the middle of belly .Do you feel sick, does your pain move, I had gallbladder scan come back normal and H-pylori blood test come back normal, so WHY are we in pain ???? My doctors all say it is stress and Anxiety I lost my dear mum 6 weeks ago but I had the pain before that you take care let me know how you go.... Mandy

Cooki,
Your pain sound more like gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) than an ulcer.
Ulcer pain is usually made better by eating something bland like milk, yogurt , banana or rjce..

You could try taking a PPI like Prilosec -- reducing stomach acid could help??
