Has anyone hear ever taken Accutane, a prescription acne medication and then developed stomach/intestinal problems?

I am 35 years old and took Accutane when I was a teenager and now have severe IBS-Diarreah. I have heard rumors of Accutane causing problems later in life. Have you heard anything substantial?

hey- i just posted a new message about my digestive dilemnas, before i read this-
i took accutane 6 years ago and now i am having alot of digestive probs.... my doc thinks i may have Inflammatory Bowel Disease and i am getting tested to find out. I have read that they still have a lot to learn about the causes- i was kind of thinking that a case of severe samonella poisoning i had about 4 years ago was the trigger- but maybe my case of food poisoning was so severe because my digestive system was damaged or weakened by the accutane! let me know your thoughts on this or if you know any sites i can find out more on this topic! thanks.

I am 24 years old and have also developed IBS about 6 years after taking Acutane. It wasn't until I read this post that I have linked the two. I am an otherwise healthy individual and this IBS was a mystery to me. Could the Accutane be the cause of my IBS???

Look at the May,2000 updated pharmaceutical insert on Accutane. (Be sure that it is the revised/updated insert.)
IBS is listed as a possible side effect.
I have not looked specifically for Accutane(also known as isotretinoin, 13 cis retinoic acid)and IBS/gastro problems in medical abstracts/letters on Med sites. I am sure you can find that info. that led Roche to list IBS as a possible side effect.
