Post tired of pain all the time...help!!

I have had stomach problems for the last 2 years and I thought it was stress related (my mom was very ill and died last year and I was under a lot of stress) but now I think I may have a reflux problem. I get a lot of nausea but never vomit. I have a burning pain right at my bellybutton and now sometimes in my chest. I feel worse if I over-eat or eat chocolate or french fries, etc. and occasionally get reflux when I lie down. I had two stomach x-rays over the past 2 years and my doctor said they were fine, except for a lot of acid in my stomach. I used to feel bad for days but now I feel ok a couple days a week. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Should I go back to the doctor again and say I still have troubles? I think I am getting even more stressed out now because I worry I might have something serios?
(sorry this is so long but I am really fed up!) Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

I am sorry to hear about your mom! Have they checked to see if you had any gall stones? Could be your Gall Bladder? I am scheduled for surgery soon.....I have had the same symptoms that you have posted. Take Care.

I have had a burning just to the right and above my belly button. It happens when I eat, or after I eat when I burp/hiccup. I also have had a minor aching on my right side. It will be around for weeks, then disappear for weeks. I think it is worse when I eat "wrong". I have had a gall bladder sonogram and an endoscopy; both were fine. This morning I am going for a HIDA scan to check my gall bladder further. I think they will inject a dye, then watch as I eat fatty food. I will let you know the results later.

Cool

I had my gallbladder removed in 1999. I was in pain for four years before I did. Not contant pain, but every like three months I'd have attacks, go to the ER and get all the tests done, etc. All thoses years, my sonogram came back with small stones in the gallbladder, bile duct clear. Because I was HMO, they didn't recommend sugery. Finally in the Fall of 1998, I'd had enough. I was on a PPO and I elected to have it out. I found a doc who listened to me, referred me to a surgeon and he took it out the next month in March. My surgeon told me I had a tumor (benign) and that it should have been taken out years ago.
I have been great since, expect for the reflux. I still limit my spicy and real fatty foods. It was the best thing I ever did.
Basically, there is no reason for someone to be in pain, so be a pest to your doctor. Gallbladder pain will only get worse and I've had a child and I'd rather have a child without an epidural, than go through that sort of pain again.
Good luck!
