After many years of stomach problems and tests, i have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Gastroparesis.This means that my stomach does not contract normally to digest food. I have been very good for the last 2 months and haven't had any attacks.But when I do get the attacks they are so terrible.The doctor has suggested Reglan,but only 5mg,and only when i need it. Does anyone else out there have this? And what should I be doing, if anything?

You should eat small, lowfat meals. There is also a drug called Domperidone (brand name Motilium) that is pretty effective in helping this condition. Sadly it isn't available in the US. I see tho, that you live in New York, close to Canada and it is approved in Canada.

I've had gastroparesis for quite sometime. You really have to watch your diet and take medication(s). I have found this to be true even when you're feeling better (I still cannot tolerate the things I used to love). Did your dr recommend a special diet? If you'd like you may email me.
