Re: What does blood in the stool look like?
Blood in your stool can appear black, bright red or may not be visible at all. If it's bright red, it could be from hemrrhoids but could also be from other causes (I have bright red blood and my colonoscopy revealed inflammation in a couple different areas of my colon that could be the cause of the bleeding-still waiting for the biopsy results for a diagnosis). Occasionally, when I wipe the toilet paper looks pinkish, but I've never seen pink in or on my stools.
My suggestion would be to see a doctor for peace of mind-they can do a fecal occult blood test and/or other tests to give you a definitive answer.
