Suspected GB problems

Hi all, I am new to this board and need some advice. I am having upper right quadrant pain under my ribcage. I went to see my PCP and she sent me for US & HIDA Scan which both seem to be normal. Is there anything else they can do to check to see if this pain/nausea/vomiting is really my GB? Thanks!

Re: Suspected GB problems

It could be some sludge in the GB but there's really no way to test for that if your ejection rate was OK. I would suggest a fat free diet for a while and see it that will control it. What was your ejection rate on the HIDA?

well, below 35% is getting problematic. So you might the diet and see if it helps.

Re: Suspected GB problems

I have been having the same problems you are describing. Both my u/s and Hida Scan came back normal as well. My PCP is now sending me for a CT scan of the abdomen with contrast. She is very certain it is my gall bladder. Good luck and hope you start feeling better soon!

Re: Suspected GB problems

I passed all of the tests, the HIDA, US and catscan. Everything came back normal. I still had the symptoms, so my surgeon took it out. The pathology came back as positive for gall bladder disease. So the tests are not always right.
