I am hoping someone can shed light on this for me....
In everything I read about acid reflux, one of its symptoms is unexplained weight loss.
How is it that acid reflux makes you lose weight?
I was diagnosed with really bad acid reflux in August 2001(Barrium swallow test). The same time I noticed I was losing weight. I lost 10 pounds in 5 months. The doctors gave me blood work and everything came back fine. I am at 118 pounds. I have maintained that weight since summer 2001.
But it seems I can't gain weight.
Anyway, the medicine the ENT gave me didn't work (presc. Pepcid AC) so I am going to go to my regular doc to get the good stuff.
Anyway, I am just wondering how this acid stuff could of possibly had something to do with my weight loss.
