Abnormal bowel movements
Hi. I am a 20 year old male and don't smoke or drink and eat rather healthy. I used to be heavier and throw up every morning even if I didn't eat anything for a while. That stopped because I lost 50 pounds.
I started experiencing abnormal bowel movements (diarrhea, constipation, cramps, etc) so I started drinking "natural source fiber (psyllium hydrophilic mucilloid)" every night. After a while the problems came back so I stopped drinking it and it didn't help. I started drinking it again and it helped again and got to a point where it didn't help again, etc, etc, etc.
In the past 2 days I have been to the toilet about 9 times total. I have had alot of cramps, diarrhea, constipation and a noticable amount of blood in my stool. After the first day I decided to stop drinking the fibre substitute. Sometimes my stool would be very large while others (when I have cramps) would look like sand in the bottom of the toilet and thats when it hurt the most for some reason. I have been trying to stay away from dairy in case I am lactose intolerant. Overall this has made me feel very irratable, exhausted and extremely frustrated.
I don't know what to do but I know that I can't take much more of this. I have thought of a few questions. Could I be lactose intolerant? Could drinking fibre substitute regularly affect my body negatively? If so, how do I fix it? I can't think of anything else that I could be doing wrong. My doctor said I have great blood pressure and blood sugar levels in case that has anything to do with it.
Please help me.
