biopsy results :( - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Got the results today from th endoscopy last tuesday...finally a test that was not negative and i wish it had been lol. IT said my tissue in my esophogus was consistant with reflux disease and tissue in my stomach showed inflammtion. Arrrggg great, the kind of stuff drs cant really fix either just stuff i have to watch with my diet. I guess its pretty consistant though with my symptoms of nausea, pain in left side, slight pain in chest, and stuffs. The GI doc is keeping me on Nizatidine at least until my next visit in February. Well, happy holidays to everyone, just thought id let y'all know what was up

oH! the doc said to stay off , well, actually she said to "Watch your chocolate intake". (I have been carefully watching it as I put it into my mouth

) OK anyway, just wondering why that might be.

Hi, shanny. Although you might not have liked the test results, at least you now have an answer to your suffering.

Chocolate, peppermint, caffeine, onions, citrus foods, and tomato based products can aggrevate already inflamed tissue. Your doc is probably trying to give you advice about which food items to avoid, but unfortunately are very popular this time of year.

From one fellow GERD sufferer to another, I say eat what you can - your stomach will let you know when you have to avoid certain "triggers."
