NEXIUM make you more sick??? - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Hi,i have just been diagnosed with GERD..and i started to take nexium ..but i found that when i took it ..i could feel more acid being produced and more heartburn..and the doctor said that eating meals makes GERD worse..but i found that when i eat..i feel better...being on an empty stomach is worse for me...
should nexium..be aggravating my symptoms since I just started taking it..?
my main symptom is not hearburn but nausea......and how long..do meds kick in until i feel 100% better? thanks

i was ut on nexium also and got nauseated...i thought maybe cause i took it on an empty stomach....im now on prevcid but i found it took about 2 weks for things =to subside

I am having a terrible time with the PPI's .. i have tried Nexium and Aciphex.. I get esophagus spasms or something..makes me feel like something is my esophagus. I have tried for several weeks and I even saw the Nurse Practitioner today and she said I needed something to treat anxiety.. I agreed to try it but this squeeze in my esophagus is real. I too was not having much proble until I had the endo procedure and started Nexium... Does anyone know what the problem could be??

I was on nexium for awhile too but never got those side effects I like Losec muxh better so I am on it now.
