tummy muscles and breathing - Digestive Disorders Message Board

HI room i hope you can help me.
lately i have been noticing that my stomache muscles seem to be causing me to breath wrong.
My tummy muscles go real tight and my beathing changes and i feel trapped and like i cant breath properly then under my rib or across top of stomach fills up with wind and i feel like im about to explode and its like the air is trapped in there. MY muscles in my chest tighten and i walk with my shoulders right up or my chest pushed out intil i relax.
i also start to dryheave as i get real scared with it and my mind starts to think all the negative thoughts
i hate it and i want it to stop im tired of being scared.
help

Why don't you contact your doctor? It almost sounds like your having some sort of panic attack, but you need to be examined to make sure you're okay. Best of luck.

Please see an gastroenterologist. It sounds like you are having gas and acid attacks. I get these and it feels like my chest is going to explode or that I have swallowed a bowling ball. That gas expands the stomach and that cuts down on the diaphram which does not allow the lungs to expand properly. Acid reflux can cause serious problems if not corrected. I am having a problem getting mine corrected and I already have serious damage to esophagus. Get this checked now and get meds to help before it gets worse. Good luck

Thats exactly how i feel
like im going to explode can you tell me any other symptoms you experience as it has helped me so much to know that it could be gas or wind

I have had panic attacks and anxiety for just over a year the attacks are rare now but they used to be every night and I remember the feeling well.
Chest pain...Trouble breathing like your ribs are gonna burst...sweating palms or cold and clammy,,,dizzy a pins and needles feeling, fast heartbeat, nausea and more it feels like you are gonna die no word of a lie but it wont kill you. I learned to handle them with Ativan 1mg if I felt an attack coming and calling my mom or a friend to talk. It helped alot. Talk to your doc though and make sure thats what it is.
