Hi .. I've had one and I think the worst part was the "indignity" ...
I had it done as a day patient and I was given IV sedation for it (I had an endoscopy done first) so I didn't r feel anything at all. Woke up none the worse for wear with no pain or discomfort.
So just make sure you are sedated for it by asking for sedation before you attend for it. If you have sedation you will not be allowed to go home on the same day on your own, or travel by public transport.
