Does Splenda cause gastral problems? - Digestive Disorders Message Board

I'm wondering if anyone has any problems using Splenda? I started using it to replace regular sugar, about 3 days ago, and I am having terrible intestinal cramping? Anyone relate to this??

I don't know the product but if its base is sorbital as the substitute sweetener, then it is know to cause diarrhea.

Besides, everyone is different. Stop taking it for a few days - if your symptoms do away, then that is your problem ie it does not agree with you (I'd say you would not be the only person in the world). Chewing too much chewing gum that has no sugars will also give you diarrhea (read the labels).
