Since having my gallbladder removed in 2000 I have had this burning sensation around my ribs. It will start burning and it feels like someone is squeezing my ribs. Sometimes its so bad I can't catch my breath. It usually happens in the middle of the night or early in the morning. It also occurs when I haven't eaten in a while. The only things that makes it go away is to eat. Sounds like an ulcer right? Well dr. sent me for a test to see if that was what was wrong. Test showed nothing wrong. Does anyone have this problem or know what it could be? Please let me know.
Sorry, I don't have any advice, but I would like to know what tests did the doctor perform to check for an ulcer? The reason I ask is, I feel I might possibly have an ulcer....
I had my gallbladder out in 2001 and have had a very similar problem with pain like that. I have had tests done also and nothing can be found. I also have a problem with nausea - do you get nauseous at all? The only suggestion I got from my doctor is to try eating a low fat diet (and the suggestion was unrelated to the pain/nausea - it was diarreha related)- I have done that for a year and a half and am to the point where I eat only 15-30 grams of fat a day - it has fixed that part of the problem but I still get the pain and feel sick. Have you had any other tests done? I wish I could help, just wanted to let you know that someone else feels the same way!
