Prevacid vs. Protonix - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Hi,
I am currently seeing two differnt doctors, one put me on Prevacid and my endocrinologist put me on Protonix because I am hypothyroid which in turn is causing me heartburn. Seeing the response on the other post should I go back to Prevacid? I too have been feeling not too well this week and not sure if its the medication.

I had severe migraines while one Protonix so I'm about the first to say try something else. I moved on to Aciphex.

I have been on Pantozol, Prevacid and Aciphex. Pantozol worked well and I believe Prevacid is working somewhat too. I don't think Aciphex did anything for me and I was taking the maximum dosage. A buddy of mine is taking Protonix and does well on it. Everyone reacts differently to medications so you just have to find one that works if you can. I don't know why you were switched due to Prevacid and thyroid. That is something you need to speak with your doctor about. Maybe Prevaicd does something to your thyroid that I am unaware of.
