Post Yogurt with Prevpac or No? PLEASE ADVISE

Hi All,

Hope all is well with everyone today. I posted this in a couple of other replies but I wanted to post it separately also.

I am going to start Prevpac on Tuesday. I have tons of people calling me and advising me to eat a lot of yogurt. I guess that's because the antibiotics kill some of the good bacteria too and this will replenish it. Or is it to prevent yeast infections? I am totally confused.

But then I read I shouldn't have yogurt - so which is it?

My cholesterol is also 230 and I should stay away from dairy but I don't think 2 weeks of yogurt is going to do any harm.

What should I do?

Thanks for any advice.

I think whenever taking an antibiotic you should eat yogurt. My favorite that contains 6 live active cultures is Stonyfield Farm. Kefir is also good to take -- it contains 38 cultures. Some people take a probiotic supplement like PB-8 or Primal Defense.

Yogurt should be eaten between the antibiotics. It will help to keep your GI tract colonized with friendly bacteria and avoid yeast infections as well as gastritis and bloating that some people get.

As you know all people respond differently--- and some are not affected adversely at all by taking antibiotics.
I think it depends on your immune system strength, constitution, vital force or whatever you want to call it???

I wish you well---Harry
