 Just diagnosed with gastroparesis, would appreciate any suggestions
Hi all. I had a gastric emptying scan done recently and it showed I definitely have gastroparesis. So it seems that the food sitting in my stomach is creating reflux problems which are causing throat and upper chest discomfort. Basically, I'm wondering what you guys here who have gastroparesis do for relief. I am currently on 60 mg prevacid every day and have just started domperidone, 20 mg 3 times a day (tried reglan but had a reaction to it). My biggest complaint is persistant hoarseness and sore throat. I take Gaviscon which seems to coat the throat and help with that, but it only lasts so long. My doc says it will take a month to see if the domperidone is working well. So in the meantime, I'm just looking for ways to reduce symptoms. Thanks everyone.
