I've been recently diagnosed with gallstones at the ER, and will be seeing my doctor this friday. Ever since I got dignosed I've had some trouble with constipation. Sometimes it feels as if my bowel is full, but it won't pass? Do Gallstones ever bring on constipation? I'm wondering if the gallstones are the real culprit or if I might have IBS and my stones are actually silent? I haven't had any of the Gallbladder symptoms except that sharp pain(no blaoting, Neausea etc What do you think it coud be
I did some limited studying on gallstones a month ago, and from what little I know there is a relation bet. them and constipation. That is because bile is stored in the gallbladder, and if it gets stuck and cannot get into the large intestine, the colon does not get properly lubricated. Don't panic though and don't even consider gallbladder removal until you try a more natural remedy to flush the stones out, it is possible to do this yourself with some mixtures of olive oil and lemon/grapefruit juice, or see a naturopath and have him/her guide you.
