Has anyone tried honey for stomach bacteria? My partner saw it on the internet. In some trials stomach bacteria was eradicated after 3 days of taking honey. Could this be real?!!
The honey has to be fairly pure though, as organic as possible, and preferrably in it's raw state. The processed, pasteurized honey on most store shelves is nothing more really than liquid sugar. It won't heal anything.
Ditto on what the other posters have said. I used to get pure honey right from the honeycombs but the person that I got it from is not in that business any more. I sure miss that pure honey!
Do you have any information on the amount to take (or eat..) daily?
And does anyone know if the raw, unfiltered honey you can get in bulk at Whole Foods is good enough? The small time beekeepers seem to have all disappeared these days.
Not sure about amounts but I will try and find out. We keep our own beehives at work and sell the honey in our shop so I would think that would be 'raw' enough. Next time our beekeeper comes in to check on them I'll quiz him about it.
I went to a health food store yesterday to get probiotics because I'm sick from the Prevpac. I asked the owner about honey and she said it doesn't work and could cause more harm because of the type of bacteria in it.
Does anyone know for sure??
