Upper abdominal pain along with left side abdominal pain......
Has anyone ever had upper abdominal pain along with left side abdominal pain that radiates sometimes to the lower back and sometimes to the front lower abdomen? This is not everyday pain but very often for about three years. Also, sometimes when I have this pain my left side feels swollen, about where your elbow is if you put you’re hands down by your side. Everyone tells me the pain is not real because there is nothing on the left side. Any comments appreciated.

There are organs there, your stomach, spleen, colon and part of the pancreas. There are many reasons why you could be experiencing pain in that area. I too have been having pain in this area, but have yet to discover the reason. I hope you feel better.

I've been getting the same thing too, for a couple of years off and on. It's been a little worse lately so I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I'll let you know what they say.

As has been mentioned already, there are a number of possibilities. That said, pain on the left side is often associated with the colon. On the left side at about the waist, it turns downward and then twists around as it approaches the rectum. If people are not eating sufficient fiber and/or getting enough liquid, this can be a difficult stretch for food waste to exit the body.

I've had the same symptoms for over 2 years. No cysts. I feel bloated in the mornings and sometimes the left side feels like there is a knot or like it is bigger. My OB suggested seeing someone in gastreoentology. I do eat fiber (fruits & veggies & Whole grains), exercise and I don't have diarreah so I can't seem to relate it to the symptoms of a digestive order. Oh...and when it first started my stomach would spasm on the left side and still does sometimes...almost a flutter.

I am 30 years old. It has been a year. When i did not eat( can’t eat much ) or some times after meal. After the pain my body temperature increases after while there is no pain or fever. This pain sometime show when i set in angle and in cold whether. I have a kidney sands and I am taking water. I am not having a weight I should have according my height and age. I am 30 years old 1.70 cm (47.5kg- 49kg)

Same here. I waas working out and was pretty big and strong at 5' 9" and 175lbs. Now I am only 140 lbs and cant gain wait because I cant eat a lot or I get bad bloating and other symptoms

Hello all...I had the same symptoms that you are describing..please see a GI specialist and ask for a chest X ray to see if you need a EGD or GI series/Barium swallow. It seems as though your stomach can actually come up into your chest wall through your diaphragm (sp?) The surgeon actually says it can be fatal if the stomach is strangulated. If you are losing weight even though you are eating you must not be absorbing the nutrients that you need. Wish you all the best. Pix
