hello Stars. I'm am actually only 20, got my gallbladder taken out at 18!! I had a congenital defect though. My gallbladder was functioning around 9% on my scan. When they were doing the test, my gallbladder swelled up to the size of a baseball..much larger than normal. And I feel so much better without it!!
As far as the surgery went, I had few problems. I mean, I was obviously sore coming out of the surgery, but it was less pain than the actual gallbladder problems. If you have the laprascopic procedure, you'll be back to regular activities in about a week. I actually went for a short walk the same day as my surgery

. If you have the regular, open surgery, you'll have a longer healing time, but you'll feel so much better it won't even matter. :3
