I've had terrible stomach pain for years - on and off. I've had h.pylori - you name it. But this pain has been lingering since early June - if not before. So I was JUST about to have my gallbladder out (HIDA showed 25% function) - when my new internist pleaded that I have an endoscopy first. And I'm glad I did. It showed gastritis - but when the pathology reports came back - they said no, it's not gastritis - it's gastropathy. And we don't know what is causing that. So, tomorrow I go for a stomach emptying test which might give us some answers. I'm on 80 mg. Nexium a day and 4 x a day I am taking sucralfate - I still feel pain many days though not as bad. So - what do I make of "gastropathy" - some things I read links it to lupus which I have suspected for myself. And is it "reversible". The dr. is virtually of no help except getting the tests done and interpreted. No guidance on what to eat. I'm in a mess because the things I should NOT eat to help get my insulin numbers down - are the things that make my tummy feel better. Bread. aaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhh. Thoughts? Help! Thanks.
