sudden severe stomach pain and diarrhea - Digestive Disorders Message Board

about two hours ago as I was almost done eating dinner I started getting really bad pain in my lower stomach or intestines. then I had bad diarrhea. a half hour ago I had diarrhea again but without the pain and not as much. it seems like this happens to me once every few months. it comes on suddenly and it really sucks. I don't want to get into the details unless someone needs to know. there's no blood that I can see though. any idea why this happens to me? I was in the doctor's for something else about a week ago where they did a blood test for a lot of stuff and all was normal but I don't know exactly what they tested for. and I didn't tell them about this.

I would suggest mentioning it to your doctor. However, I have similar boughts of unpleasantness. Also try writing down exactly what you ingested and did for that day, and if/when it happens again compare the two.

Odd as it is, my trigger is cheap coffee. If I drink a cup somewhere that uses high quality, whole bean varieties, I'm fine. But if I order a cup at the diner down the street that uses Folgers, I'm in the bathroom with wretched cramps 20 minutes later.
