Hi, phelps -- I've had bloating and shortness of breath too which suddenly came on after a long course of antibiotics for a sinus infection. I'm eating yogurt, taking probiotics and also taking Beano before meals, plus eating smaller meals and not eating for about three hours before bedtime. It seems to be helping although I'm still not back to normal. The other obnoxious symptom I have is lots and lots of belching.
You might also experiment to see if cutting out dairy products might help you. Perhaps you're lactose intolerant. Others have found that they have a sensitivity to wheat and gluten products.
