endoscopy hypoli

Had symptomatic attach three weeks ago and was out of town. Had minor pain during three weeks but when I got home I went to a GI specialist. with in three days I had an ultrasound (showed nothing), HIDA Scan (results are not in yet), and an Endoscopy that showed possitive for Hypoli. Problem is there is not stomach pain. The pain is in the upper right quad under the rib cage where the gallbladder is. For the last three days I have not been able to eat and keep it down. I wake up at 4am and am vomitting or wishing I could. I sometimes have pain on the right side in the middle of my back and have pressure constantly near the gallbladder. I feel sick about 20 minutes after I eat, even low fat food. No ulcers were detected and I do not have problems with GERD. Any ideas?

Re: endoscopy hypoli

If you are + for H. Pylori, you are +. Unless you had it before and are having residual, which can show as positive even though it doesn't really count. The biopsy is the best, but if you can get 1 of the other tests to verify, that would be good (can't recall besides the blood test, which isn't as good I hear).

Doesn't mean you don't have GB problems at the same time.

GB could be sludged up, which will not show. Also, await your HIDA results; that may show that it's slow. If not, still possible you could have sludge that is bringing the GB function downward, even if not technically "deficient" (it could be deficient for your normal self). I think in this case of "all negative", all they do is go by your nagging symptoms which won't go away, along with lack of results from other treatments.

But, as long as the HP diagnosis isn't spurious (doubt it with biopsy), I would definitely treat the HP and go from there.
