| Re: what to eat when you have a Gastritis Ulcers
I can't tell you what to eat, but I can suggest what to avoid-- Things that are greasy, spicy, fatty and hard to digest. Tomatoes, caffeine, alcohol, spicy food like tacos, peppers, and alot of rich desserts (pastries, cakes, chocolate) should be avoided. And avoid smoking as well. Mainly stick to bland foods.
I have chronic gastritis and I am still crossing out food from my diet everyday that cause "attacks" or "flare-ups".
I have heard of some people having success with the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce and toast). Also, she should take a PPI or acid reducer (aciphex, Protonix, etc) to cut back on the acid that her stomach is producing that will only cause more irritation.
I wish your mother luck and hope she feels better soon.
