Advice on abdominal discomfort - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Hey there, i am wondering what might cause upper right abdominal discomfort, with bloating feeling and weird sensations in the upper abdomen? I have had gallbladder /liver checked, not pregnant and waiting to see a GI doctor. Also have some ovarian cysts. Any help as i think my dr is stumped thinking maybe an ulcer but it's not seeming to fi the criteria. Any help please it's driving me insane!

You sound like me! I've been having upper right abdominal discomfort for several months now and all gallbladder tests are normal. Right now I'm wondering about a peptic ulcer. Do you have any problems with indigestion or heartburn and does food seem to bother you in any way? It's crazy, but my side feels like I slept with a super hard pillow under it. I am making an appt. with a G.I. today and hope to get to the bottom of it.

jsmit, i do get indigetion here and ther but it doesn't seem to matter what i eat or don't, it's ver frusuarting and as you i am wating to see a GI next month. An ulcer just doesn't seem to make sense with all the weird sensations i'm having in the upper abdomen. Or the pain in my liver/rib area

I just made my appt. for the G.I. and will see him Dec. 14. I know how frustrating it is. I can eat all kinds of food with no problem, but then all of a sudden I'll be miserable with indigestion and other burning sensations. The pain actually moves around to different areas and every so often it feels like something is going to explode. (for a brief period) I do have one spot that I can push on and it is sore and tender. Like you, it just doesn't seem to fit the profile of an ulcer.
