I have been having symptoms for a couple of months. It actually started as indigestion and I was taking Tums like they were candy. It progressed to what I'm currently experiencing.
As far as my history goes:
-I had my gallbladder removed in 1997 (due to severe gallbladder disease),
-I am NOT a drinker or smoker.
I have seen a Gastro-specialist and he put me on Aciphex (which really hasn't helped), maybe relieved the pain a bit, but the diarrhea is about the same and the nausea still comes in waves.
He was hoping the medication would help and is giving it a week and if it doesn't his next step would be an Endoscopic procedure to take biopsies. I understand the endoscopic procedures are pretty easy to get through and just an out-patient test (so, that's good).
The other thing he mentioned I can't FIND anything and he HAD a name for it and I wish I had wrote it down.
Was a Syndrome where the body believes the Gallbladder is STILL there and is basically mimics the symptoms of Gallbladder disease (pre-removal). Has ANYONE heard of this/know the name of the syndrome. The only thing is with my Gallbladder disease I don't remember having the diarrhea, I would have similar ATTACKS for pain - stomach gets real rigid and painful. But, I don't remember diarrhea being a symptom. I could KICK myself for not writing the name down.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate ANY feedback!!
