Has anyone tried rice milk? There is a really good one by called rice and easy, you can get it from your local Tesco’s. I’m lactose intolerant, and that's the best option I found which is healthier, cheap, and taste good.
I was really surprised just how good rice milk is. Our local grocers has a pretty good house brand. If you're soy-intolerant, read the label. Some rice milks and almond milks, have soy. They're putting it in everything these days!
The problem with Rice Milk including Rice Dream is it contain too much sugar/carbs and very little protein. It is not a good substitute for milk --- It's too sweet.
Look at the labels.
Harry, you're right. Rice milk does have a high glycemic index. I don't use it all that often - just in the occasional bowl of gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free, no sugar cereal. Hemp milk isn't bad. It's thicker than rice milk and doesn't have the funky taste that soy milk has. It also has protein and essential fatty acids. Its ok on cereal. Never tried it plain.
