| Most common method of ulcer diagnosis?
For the past few days I've been having some trouble with my stomach: I am never able to eat very much at a time, and shortly afterwards I feel very hungry again, but cannot seem to eat a normal-sized meal. I've also been having some nausea every now and then. Part of me thinks this whole thing might be in my head as I am a worrier and an emetophobe, but reading about ulcers has made me think maybe that's what it is. I don't have any pain, just a lot of hunger that subsides briefly when I eat. What I want to know is what the first test they run is likely to be. I have not been taking any NSAIDs and do not smoke, so I think the only thing it could be is H. pylori. The idea of getting an endoscopy or drinking barium really does not appeal to me, and I'm wondering if I ask for a stool test would most doctors oblige me? From what I've read that seems to be the easiest and is more accurate than the breath test (which also requires the ingestion of something I'm afraid will make me more nauseous). I'm probably going to call a doctor if i feel the same way in the morning, but until then any advice would be very appreciated!
