Big guts gone in 3 weeks.

For years I have had a big stomach and thought it was that dangerous yellow fat until I started taking Xylitol in my tea 2 times per week and eating jogurt with those live bacteria in. Within 3 weeks my guts flattened to such an extent that I had to downsize my pants from 36 to 34 inches. And no more bloating feeling.
Can this happen or could there be some other underlying problem?
