hi
i saw the question about mucus that is worse on eating. I have had this for years and was diagnosed with LRD Laryngial esophagus reflux disease (sp?), which is like GERD, but the acid/bile is going up higher than the esophagus. The only thing i have found that works for it is Gaviscon, which contains Alginic Acid. This is a foaming agent and should help a lot. The other thing that helps is Famotidine, 20mg. in addition to your PPI, which i found to be useless after a while.
Good luck

I will try GAVISCON...I am having such a hard time, I thought I was having sinus problems! (I was so plugged up). I am also on protonix and one other med at night. So at this point I'm willing to try anything. All I do is snort it down to spit it out or cough it up to get rid of it! It's 24/7!! VERY tiring!
I have had this for two years, following gallbladder surgery. I have no allergies, had sinus surgery to reduce my turbinates, and do not have LPRD, according to the 24 hour PH probe. I have just been diagnosed with esophageal non-specific motility disorder and will start taking reglan. My gastro doctor isn't sure where the mucous is coming from. It is a horrible thing to endure and has severely altered my quality of life. I am praying the reglan will help. I know what you are going through.
