Post Op Nissen Fundoplication

I am 18 days post fundoplication and until yesterday had a very easy recovery. Until now I haven't had any significant problems with eating, pain, diarrea, etc that some others experience. For the past 24 hours I have been having severe pain in my upper left quadrant and under my left arm. I spoke to my surgeon last night and he told be to start taking the pain meds and an anti spasm med that were prescribed when I left the hospital. The meds have done little to relieve the pain especially when I am standing. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and if this is something to be concerned about. I'm just suprised that I haven't had any issue with this until almost 3 weeks after the surgery. Other than the pain I am not having any other problems, no fever, no problems eating, no nausea, etc.
