| hope this helps anyone with ruq pain after gb surgery
went to see a surgeon this afternoon and, as luck would have it, it was the surgeon who removed my gall bladder. i have been having episodes of ruq pain since nov last year that have continued even though i had my gb out in dec. he told me that the histology report said that my gb was inflamed and that id had chronic cholecysisitis, and that gb had numerous stones in it. he said that the pain could be that the surrounding area has a tendency to get inflammed as a result and that it could take up to a year to resolve itself or that a stone could be in the bile duct. anyway i have to have an ultrasound done. also had to have a blood test because im itching all the time. im glad that he told me about the histology report as ive been wondering whether it was worth going through an op to have no relief from the pain, if anything its more frequent than before and im tired all the time, but now i know that things would have got a whole lot worse, than now even, if i hadn't had it done, and that my present problems will not go on forever. hope this may be of some help to others with the same problem who i would urge to seek further help
