| Re: I've nearly lost all faith.. if anyone can help, thanks
I feel sorry for you and can sort of understand a little, because I am in a similar boat.
In my case, as briefly as I can tell you -- I've had to take a medication (Cholestyramine) for 5 years to control diarrhea I've had ever since getting my gallbladder removed in 2002. But last June, the company who made my medicine was bought out by another company. Ever since last June I have had a lot of gas and occasional nausea and upset stomach, but the most annoying thing has been a sour/bitter taste in my mouth all day, and my tongue had become white and coated. This has been going on for almost a year, with no relief in sight. It seemed to occur because I was switching medicine brands, but I've tried several differents meds and none of them seem to correct the problem. Unfortunately, I NEED to take the medicine in order to control my diarrhea.
Like yourself, I have been from doctor to doctor to doctor and I have heard all sorts of different reasons. I've had tests including the endoscopy (tube down the throat) and nobody can find anything. The people in my life sometimes call me a hypochondriac, and it's really depressing. Sometimes I don't know how much longer I can stand this either. I'm pretty sure my problem is a direct, adverse reaction to the meds I am taking, but I'm not sure.
I wish I knew what to tell you, but all I can do at the moment is say you're not alone. What types of medicines have you tried? You say the tests show "gas", so what kind of meds have they given you for that? 7 years is a long time to suffer, but I once had a very bad health problem (not this one) when I was 22 which lasted until I was 27, but I eventually found the answers for THAT, so it is possible. I wish you the best and maybe through this message board we can find answers with others' help.
