| | Alternative treatment for duodenal ulcer?
My mom has gastroparesis and a jejunostomy feeding tube. Currently on Prevacid for a bleeding duodenal ulcer. Does anyone have any experience with raw apple cider vinegar and/or mastic put through a feeding tube? Do the vinegar or mastic need to come in contact with the ulcer in order to be effective (her feeding tube bypasses the affected area)?
Am interested in exploring alternative remedies because my mom also developed bedsores that only got worse after several months of prescription ointments and several IV antibiotics for MRSA. About a month ago I started using manuka honey instead of the ointments. Wounds were looking better after a week, but then she was admitted for something unrelated. We weren't allowed to use the honey, and instead the wound care nurse started her back on the prescriptions. She came home after a week, wounds were bigger and draining. Two weeks home, and wounds look healthy, measure smaller and are no longer draining. The home care nurse came today (not the usual nurse) and screamed at my dad and me about not following doctor's protocol. The positive result with honey has me interested in other alternatives to prescriptions. Thanks for any help!
