Gallstones? - Digestive Disorders Message Board

Hey all,

Yesterday I went to my Gastro because I had develop new symptoms *stomach pain that would wake me up in the morning, regurgitating all the time, nausea, not a good appetite, weight loss (due to not eating), and a strain when I got to the bathroom*

I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux back in February after and endoscopy procedure was done, but have been on Zegerid since. *it doesn't seem to working that great anymore* so he put me on these chalky looking caltrate? pills to take 4 times a day to help the lining of my stomach coat.

Anyways, he told me to make an appointment to get an ultra sound to see if I have gallstones.

I'm only 21 and have been going this all for a very long time. I really don't know much about gallstones and am kinda freaking out about it. I am hoping I don't have it but who knows.

Also, he decided to take a CBC blood test along with blood sugar because my heart was racing so much when I was at the office *I was NERVOUS* but he still thought it was way too high. I've been to the cardiologist a bunch of times and everything came back normal. And now that my gastro got me all worried again, my heart has been racing and I woke up with palpitations ever since he ordered the blood tests. I'm scared something might be wrong now.

Anyone else have digestive issues along with heart racing/palpitations?

Ohh and I forgot to tell my Doctor that my stomach feels really weird and bubbly? And it always growls even after I eat.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The Ultrasound is a fast way to find out about gallstones. It's not bad at all.

I also have a lot of gastro problems and heart palpitations. I don't know if they're directly related, but they both get worse with anxiety or alcohol. They both get a little better with a low dose of Ativan, which is commonly prescribed for anxiety. Not a lot better, but it's usually enough to help me fall asleep.

Speaking of sleep...

I discovered that a LACK OF SLEEP is my most common trigger for both stomach pain and heart palpitations (and anger, depression, neck pain, etc.). One bad night is fine, but if I go all week with less than 7 hours a night, I feel like crap by Thursday or Friday.

My stomach feels better if I remember to drink WATER instead of coffee when I'm tired.

Yeah I've had anxiety issues *still do* have a nervous personality mostly..

The ultra sound won't be bad, but do they let you know right then and there if all is good or not?

I'm more worried about my blood tests. I always am when it comes to that.

I don't drink Coffee anymore. It use to be something I'd drink 4-5 times a day! I drink a lot of water, and get enough sleep though my patterns are really messed up.
