Swamp gas - what might be causing this?

The last two days I've had gas that smells much worse than usual. Not like rotten eggs, but like a swamp. It's really awful. Any ideas what foods or supplements might cause this awful swamp smell?

Whenever I add more fiber, I get more gas, but it's not usually stinky.

The only changes in the last few days: More Benefiber, ate a whole package of blueberries, a couple plums, a banana, some grapes. Chicken, one serving of baked beans, corn on the cob, one yogurt, Lots of water.

NO onions, garlic, brocoli, caggage,etc.

Does anyone else ever get this? Ideas?

PS: I have a low performing gallbladder, and a history of IBS (I've been on the const. end of the continuum for weeks, hence the added fiber).

Re: Swamp gas - what might be causing this?

Any time I have really foul smelling gas, it's usually (in my case anyway) because I have a hard stool stuck somewhere up in the colon. With all the fruit you ate it may have caused a bit more gas than usual, I wonder if your a bit constipated if it's not fermenting a bit inside you, especially if it's trapped behind a rock in the colon. This may be your strange smell.
