| Re: pseudomonas aeurginosa ...bacterial infection
Hello. I had an aeromonas hydrophilia infection from India - a very similar bacteria to yours. I took some herbs (golden seal, grapefruit seed extract, the usual suspects..) and hoped that they worked, but my symptoms continued. I then took ciprofloxacin and that made no difference to my symptoms (it later turned out my symptoms were caused by a functional digestive disorder) but the reason I'm writing this is because 1. The anti-biotics didn't effect any kind of yeast overgrowth or allow parasites to thrive even though I had a bacterial infection, because I took heavy duty (500 billion) probiotics after it (it's called VSL 3 if you're interested) and 2. The cipro or the herbs killed the aeromonas hydrophilia, but it wasn't that which was giving me the symptoms in the first place. I imagine you had one of those comprehensive stool tests done (I did too) where they find rare bacteria that a normal GI doctor wouldn't check for. As that bacteria is not considered as harmful as others, it's surprisingly easy to get rid of, so think twice before you decide it's the root of all your problems. All the best
