| Re: Question about colonoscopy and gastrointestinal endoscopy
Hi Shopgirl37,
Both my husband and I both have had both the endoscopy and colonoscopy at the same time. I would personally recommend doing both in one session, for a few reasons.
The preparation is required for both procedures, and that is the most challenging part. If you can avoid doing the prep twice, I would.
The actual procedure is a piece of cake, and you will have no memory of it at all. If you can accomplish both in one visit, I think that is a great benefit.
This is one of those things that most of us dread, and the anticipation of your first one is typically much worse than the actual event. I often post to reassure people about oscopy's because they are nothing like you think. After having my first one, I felt clean, and enjoyed knowing everything was fine "down there".
I wish you the best. If youu have any more questions, I will be glad to answer them. I usually check the boards a few times a day.
Been there, done that!
