First off let me say thank you to who ever takes the time to read this. It seems many people have similar digestive disorders and i'm sure most of you are as frustrated as I am.
I'm a 26 year old male 6' ft tall and 170 lbs
For about two years now I have had reoccuring pains in the rt. side upper quadrant of my stomach as well as pain behind my lower ribs.
On a couple instances the pain was so great it woke me up at night.
This pain is also accompanied by distended stomach, gas, bleching and constant fulness.
Recently, it seems as if my stomach rumbles or gurgles in the spot where there is pain...There is also some chest pain and shortness of breath
I have been taking prilosec and zantac and that seems to help the pain.
I do not have health insurance however a family friend is a doctor and he did a urine and blood test and everything came out fine.
Also, I have had left side throat pain over the past couple of weeks and there is a "menthol" taste in my throat sometimes
Yes, gallbladder disease sounds very likely. Do you have pale colored stool? This is very common with those suffering from gallbladder problems.
You will want to eat a low fat diet. This will help control some of the symptoms, it will not reverse the problem, but will buy you time.
Given your financial situation, prescription drugs or surgery are probably out of the question. You may want to search the internet there are a few supplements such as fish oil, lecithin that may help a little. Beware of those promising over the counter miracles.

Yes I do have pale colored stool often
I am trying to eat a low fat diet although at times it is tough
I have the same symptoms you have...went from 145lbs to now a stable 118lbs practically overnight it seemed.
The chest pains get scary.
Hopefully you can avoid gb surgery, if possible. I'm trying to recover from it now and its miserable.
Apparently you haven't had much weight loss though you've been having these problems for 2 yrs. Do you have pain across your back in the shoulder blades area?
i also take prilosec (omeprazole)
and dr. gave me Soma (carisoprodol) for my back pains and chest pains.
