Talking Advil on an empty stomach.. how serious can this be?

I recently heard that you should never take advil or ibuprofen on an empty stomach becaue it can cause you to develop ulcers and bleed? Is this true and how serious is this?

I've taken advil for most of my adult life for headaches and other small pains, and I probably haven't been taking them with food. Could this be a cause for my acid reflux?

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.. thanks!

I like to grow my own food.

It could be one of the causes. Just make sure to take it when you've eaten or with a beverage in the future.
